Farewell and meh to Buffy

2003-05-21 - 9:12 p.m.

Wow, did that last episode of Buffy kinda suck, or what? There I was, all prepared to tear up and meh. The closest I came was when Dawn left the core Scoobies alone in the hallway of the school, and I realized that this was going to be it the big farewell. But that quickly faded. Sure, I enjoyed Buffys What do you guys want to do tomorrow?, but then all the talking over each other it rushed a moment I wanted to savor.

What bothered me the most was the total way they just lucked into a victory. All their plans and ideas seemed to fail. Even with their new slayer strength, the SITs didnt do that much better than the humans upstairs. Only through an amulet that was given to them out of the blue, the function of which they didnt even know, did they succeed. Though to be fair, the Big Bad seemed to banking on a whole lot of luck too, because that Army of Ubervamps? Not organized. Thousands of them, and all of them looking away from the only way in or out of the place. Buffy may have only had a bunch of girls, but at least she took a couple minutes to train them. The First Evil was going to take over the world with that pack of wild dogs? What ever happened to intelligent, methodical, thought-out, deliberate evil?

Speaking of which, work is starting to suck. Why is it that work always picks up just when you want to start enjoying your personal life? When it was cold and snowy out, we were inventing things to do. Now that summers coming on, theres tons to do. Which I wouldnt mind so much if I hadnt already been told that there is no way Im getting a promotion or a bonus, not only this year, but next either. Apparently my bosses learned motivational speaking from Anya Jenkins. Just call me cannon fodder.
